The Controller is an experienced Accounting and Finance generalist with management experience who partners with all departments at multiple levels to develop and execute corporate financial strategies and activities that foster growth, innovation, and organizational effectiveness. The Controller is ultimately responsible for the accuracy and timeliness of corporate financial statements and also oversight of the Accounting and Operations team. Reporting to the VP of Finance and Operations the Controller is a trusted to review daily transactions on a monthly basis and provide feedback to staff. Similarly, the Controller is expected to present month financials and budget vs actual variance analysis for executives all businesses in Levatas’ portfolio of businesses. Responsibilities

Accounting - Daily

  • Manage the daily tasking Accounting & Operations Staff
  • Ensure that accounts payable are paid on time
  • Ensure that accounts receivable are collected promptly
  • Ensure that all economical payable discounts are taken
  • Ensure that billings are issued promptly
  • Maintain an orderly accounting filing system
  • Maintain the chart of accounts as needed
  • Provide financial analyses as needed

Accounting - Monthly

  • Ensure both semi-monthly payrolls are processed in timely and accurate manner
  • Ensure that bank reconciliations are completed
  • Ensure that monthly close is completed and accurate
  • Issue financial statements to the Executive Team

Accounting - Yearly

  • Manage the budgeting process
  • Prepare the annual budget
  • Assist in Corporate Tax Filing as needed
  • Lead internal audit to verify accuracy of Payroll, 401k, Paid time off
  • Assist in external audit as needed

Accounting - Ongoing

  • Develop and refine accounting policies and procedures
  • Ensure that job costs are calculated and accurate data is reported to PFMs

Finance - Daily

  • Monitor cash balances and prepare daily updates to CFO
  • Review outgoing contracts and update Financial Forecasting
  • Review Billable Efficiency of Agency and provide suggestions to EVP of Technology and functional managers
  • Represent organization in billing disputes

Finance - Monthly

  • Review and update budgets
  • Review and update revenue/sales reports

Finance - Yearly

  • Maintain insurance coverage
  • Ensure other ISO compliances requirements met
  • Review Fixed Asset ledger

Finance - Ongoing

  • Arrange for banking services
  • Arrange for debt financing
  • Maintain lender relations

Core Competencies

  • Someone who likes people and knows the strategic value of Accounting, Finance, and Operations to the agency and not a cost center
  • 7+ years of Accounting-related experience.
  • Ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment and navigate team members through a variety of organizational changes.
  • Knowledge of US GAAP policies, procedures, compliance and practices and experience in developing, executing and maintaining Accounting Policies and procedures .
  • Quickbooks Online experience, Google Docs and Microsoft Suite proficiency preferred
  • Effective verbal/written communication and presentation skills with the ability to motivate and train employees at all levels.
  • Ability to pay attention to detail
  • Strong negotiation and conflict resolution skills as well as excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and must be a good listener, possessing strong leadership skills
  • Able to manage and delegate workflow in a fast-paced environment with multiple and sometimes changing priorities and to recognize a problem and bring creative solutions to management.
  • Enthusiastic team player with a strong drive to create a positive work environment, but who can also work independently.
  • Strong client service focus with the ability to be comfortable with fast paced operations and not be afraid to "roll up your sleeves".
  • Bias for action, strong work ethic, and desire to achieve excellence.
  • Advanced Accounting Degree preferred
